About Lakeshia

I believe stories can help us see ourselves more clearly, understand one another more deeply and recognize God at work in places we may have overlooked.

I write fiction, faith-based books, Bible studies and other meaningful resources designed to help people reflect, heal, hope and grow. Whether I am writing about a woman finding the courage to begin again, exploring Scripture alongside my mother or helping someone make sense of their own story, my work begins with curiosity, compassion and a deep love for people.

I have always been drawn to the stories beneath the surface.

The stories behind our decisions. The stories we inherited. The stories we tell ourselves about who we are. And the stories God is still writing, even when life does not unfold the way we expected.

My faith is central to how I understand both life and storytelling. I love God, I love God’s people and I believe Scripture is meant to be lived, wrestled with and experienced, not simply recited.

That belief shapes my Bible teaching and ministry. I am especially passionate about helping people move beyond religious routine and into a more honest, personal relationship with God. Through Bible studies, sermons, workshops and conversations, I invite people to ask deeper questions, encounter familiar passages with fresh eyes and recognize that prayer is not merely preparation for purpose. Prayer is the pathway to purpose.

Stories have always been part of my work.

Not only am I an author and publishing professional, but I have spent more than 20 years working in communications, public relations and storytelling. I have supported businesses, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, executives, community leaders and national brands.

That experience taught me that people are not moved by information alone. They are moved by meaning.

Today, I use what I have learned to write my own books, collaborate with other leaders on theirs and help people communicate the stories, ideas and experiences they feel called to share.

I am the founder of Luemarie, an independent publishing company created to develop thoughtful books, studies and storytelling projects. I am also a collaborative writer, developmental editor and writing coach for authors and leaders who need help shaping an idea into a clear, compelling body of work.

Whether I am writing, teaching, speaking or helping someone else tell their story, the heart of my work remains the same: To create space for truth; honor the complexity of people’s lives; encourage faith without pretending life is easy; and to tell stories that leave people feeling seen, strengthened and a little more hopeful.

Speaking and Ministry

I speak for churches, women’s gatherings, conferences, retreats, workshops, community events and organizations seeking a thoughtful, faith-centered message.

My teaching style blends biblical insight, storytelling, practical reflection and honest conversation. I do not believe we have to ignore our questions, disappointments or lived experiences in order to have faith. I believe those are often the very places where God meets us.

Common speaking and teaching themes include:

  • Prayer, purpose and hearing from God
  • Moving from religious ritual to a genuine relationship
  • Faith during seasons of uncertainty, delay or disappointment
  • Overcoming fear, rejection and feelings of being overlooked
  • Rediscovering hope and creativity
  • Understanding your identity in Christ
  • The spiritual power of storytelling
  • Writing, publishing and using your story to serve others

A More Personal Note

I am from Georgia, and many of my earliest lessons about faith, creativity, community and perseverance were formed in my small town.

I am also blessed to create alongside my mother. Our work together reflects something I deeply value: the wisdom found in shared stories, intergenerational faith and the conversations that happen when we slow down long enough to listen.

I do not write because I have mastered every lesson. I write because I am still learning. I write because I know what it feels like to need encouragement, clarity and confirmation that your story is not over.

Last, but not least, I write because I believe the right words can meet us at the right moment and remind us that God is still present, still speaking and still leading us toward green pastures.
